Here’s another smartphone app that is just as useful as it is cool. It’s called Google Goggles. No, I’m not talking about Google’s much-anticipated augmented-reality Project Glass, though these goggles are just as awesome and are already here.
I’m talking about the mobile visual search app that identifies everything from your favourite wine to that work of art hanging in your hotel room, and even scans a business card, just by taking its picture.
This is what I mean:
Cool, right? But how is this useful to small businesses and entrepreneurs?
Well, apart from getting information on real-world objects through pictures, entrepreneurs and small businesses can take advantage of Google Goggle’s image-based search by uploading images of company logos and advertisements and tagging them in a way that an image search will lead to the company’s website and other relevant content.
Sounds familiar? That’s because it works much like QR Codes, minus the code and without a lot of the hassle associated with it.
