The Agathon collection is a range of timepieces, from the Chronograph and Regulator to the diamond rimmed Agathon Medium, that appeals to both men and women.
The collection possesses a sporty elegance distinguished by its strikingly coloured guilloché enamel dials.
The Agathon is named after Peter Carl Fabergé’s younger brother, who was a creative force in the early days of Fabergé’s rise to pre-eminence.
A key inspiration for the Agathon is an early original Fabergé triangular table clock, with a sophisticated pale blue pattern of guilloché enamel, and a round opalescent face and Arabic numerals. The Agathon features the identical numerals.
The entire range has a jewel-like quality: diamonds highlight the intense colours of the Agathon Medium – gunmetal grey, golden brown and brilliant red.
All Agathon enamelled dials are made of gold, adding warmth and richness.
The hands are typically made of blued steel. The engraving that is a hallmark of Fabergé Horlogerie decorates the back of the watches and the movements, from flourishes of hand engraving in the rococo style on the two Agathon Small Seconds watches, to the intricate lacy guilloché detailing of the entire skeletonised movement of the Regulator.
The bespoke rotor replicates the pleated lines of the traditional guilloché sunray pattern.
As the Agathon is produced in limited quantities, each watch is hand engraved on the back of the case with its number in the series.
The final touches of precious details – crowns formed by egg-shaped cabochon gems or fine quality diamonds set upside down, polished and gem-set buckles domed to fit the wrist – echo the refinement of Fabergé masterpieces.
